About Mary Tatum
Welcome! I’m Mary Tatum, Realtor and EcoBroker in the Greater Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Ute Pass and Woodland Park areas. My goal is finding you the perfect home, or marketing your current home to sell. A home is the biggest expense most people will ever undertake in their lives, and I make sure my clients understand the process and what it takes to buy and sell. Things like: How much cash you need to have on hand; what kind of “sweat equity” do you need to invest in your home before listing; and, the “hidden costs” of buying and selling. All of these things are a part of the process, and buyers and sellers deserve to be educated. My experience, professional relationships, and positive approach to the home buying and selling process will put you at ease. My philosophy is that the more you know, the easier and more pleasant the process is for everyone. And, just so you know, Mary really does love houses.
As well as being a licensed Realtor®, I am a certified EcoBroker®. I am proud to be among the first EcoBrokers® in the Pikes Peak Region. EcoBroker® certified Realtors® receive extensive additional training hours regarding energy and environmental issues as they relate to real estate transactions. As an Accredited Staging Professional™ (ASP™), I have completed continuing education coursework specializing in preparing properties to sell. Once we have committed to working together, one of my services is to provide assistance in staging your home to SELL. Statistically, Staged Homes sell more quickly and for a better price than homes that are not staged. There is more information on the ASP™ designation to follow. One of the premises of ASP™ is "How you live in your home, and how you sell your house are two different things."
A little about me: My Bachelor's degree is a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas. For 14 years, I worked for Pikes Peak Community College before making a career change into real estate. I am the mother of two middle-school aged daughters who attend Manitou Springs Middle School, and provide taxi service for them as well as their friends. I am a member of First Congregational Church, Colorado Springs, a weekly volunteer at S-CAP (Southern Colorado AIDS Project), and I support Manitou Springs schools, Ecumenical Social Ministries Food Pantry, and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).
